Chantilly, VA- August 18, 2010 — Fairfield Technologies Inc. (FTI) is proud to announce the completion of the fifth year of its subcontract with the Raytheon Company in support of the Advanced Weather Interactive Processing System (AWIPS) at the National Weather Service, NOAA. This signifies the halfway point of a ten year contract running through 2014. The current program is managed by Raytheon and its AWIPS team members, and is currently in the midst of a sixth year of support.
FTI supports the AWIPS Operations and Maintenance (O&M) contract administered by Raytheon with systems administration, network and systems modernization, and verification and validation services. FTI personnel include expert systems administration and testing personnel with both academic and applied experience in the meteorological sciences. The Raytheon AWIPS program utilizes ITIL methodologies and was one of the earliest registered ISO 20000 programs in the United States.
