Chantilly, VA- May 30, 2009 —Fairfield Technologies Inc. (FTI) announces its award of a subcontract with the Raytheon Company to support the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. The award is made for the Earth Science and Data Information System (ESDIS) administered by Raytheon under NASA’s Flight Project Directorate, Earth Science Projects Division.
The mission of ESDIS is to enable processing, archiving, and distribution of earth science satellite data. Multiple communities make use of such data provided by NASA’s Science Mission Directorate via a group of archival and distribution centers. ESDIS services include enhancing archival processes and delivery systems, improving end-client service metrics, and providing data necessary to ongoing research by scientists in the government and academic sectors. ESDIS data products include land, ocean, and atmospheric measurements from a variety of observational platforms.
“FTI is pleased to continue serving as a subcontractor to Raytheon on its earth science contract at NASA,” said Kenneth Fried, President of FTI. “Support of NASA ESDIS adds to FTI’s ongoing performance on similar earth sciences data management projects as a Raytheon subcontractor.”
